History has been made as Columbia Rivers Unified Soccer wins the district 4 playoff tournament. They now have their eyes set on the state championship.

(CR Sports) - For the first time ever, River's unified soccer team is State bound after taking first place in the district tournament. The Rapids struggled in the regular season, but their competitive team came back aggressively for the district playoff, defeating the Skyview Storm by a score of 5 - 2 in the first round. CR’s #10 Froilan Ochoa scored 3 goals during the match. River’s second round match was a nail-biter. The game would go into penalty kicks after regulation nor extra-time could separate the Rapids and Union Titans. Rivers outstanding unified goalkeeper, #23 Adalynn Geotze made 10 wonderful saves throughout the course of the game despite a right knee injury. The Rapids would then take on the Camas Papermakers in the district _ Championship. Led by Ochoa’s 4 consecutive goals, the Rapids cruise to a 4-2 victory and district championship. As the team soaked in the victory, they were presented gold medals as a result of their success.

The Columbia River Unified Soccer team is now set to compete in the Special Olympics Washington State tournament for the first time in program history on May 30th at the University of Puget Sound.
