“All 9 varsity [players] did extremely well” said boys tennis head coach Kevin Erickson explained that “When you can qualify seven of your nine varsity [players] to the bi-district tournament, that’s really good.”

Another impressive moment was how they kept fighting, playing multiple matches a day to get through the tournament. “I think most of our players had enough [by] playing 3 matches a day just to be able to keep fighting throughout the entire tournament - [it was] really impressive,” Erickson described.

The team is also not going away from how they’ve always practiced. They believe that if they continue doing what they have been doing all season, they will do great in bi-districts. 

“There’s a different title with it being called bi-districts, but we’re [going to] practice the same way this week and prepare like we always do,” Erickson explained. “It’s a marathon of a season so staying as fresh as possible heading down to the very end… is really key.”

The bi-district tournament will be held at the Vancouver Tennis Center. It starts tomorrow from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Good luck, boys tennis!
