Last Wednesday was senior night and it was truly a special night. There were several personal bests that were set and River took first place overall. The seniors who were recognized last Wednesday were Lucy Taylor, Reese Dunning, Mia Boyden, Annie Morrison Garcia, and Bella Wright. All of them have been on the swim team for four years and played a critical part in helping River win the meet.

In the meet, River won the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time 2:09.54, which was over 10 seconds faster than the second place team. The team consisted of Annie Morrison Garcia, Lucy Taylor, Ingrid Morrison Garcia, and Sam Yamashita. In the 50 yard Freestyle, Annie Morrison Garcia and Bella Wright took first and second place respectively. River also won the 200 yard Freestyle, the 100 yard Butterfly, the 500 yard Freestyle, the 200 yard Freestyle Relay, and the 100 yard Backstroke.

The girls followed this up with a strong performance this past Saturday at the Kelso Invitational. Overall, they took 7th place out of 22 schools and proved that they are one of the best in the 2A GSHL. 

In the 100 yard Butterfly for River, Sam Yamashita took fifth place with a time of 1:11.15, and Ingrid Morrison Garcia took sixth place with a time of 1:12.57. For the 200 yard Freestyle Relay, River took 4th place out of 34 teams with a time of 1:55.89 - the team consisted of Ingrid Morrison Garcia, Lucy Taylor, Michaela Gravel, and Sam Yamashita. River also took fourth place in the 200 yard Medley Relay, with a team consisting of Annabella Wright, Lucy Taylor, Sam Yamashita, and Ingrid Morrison Garcia.

This is only highlighting a small portion of the season for this girls swim team as they are looking strong heading into the postseason. They have one more meet before the beginning of the postseason, the SWW Invite, which is this Saturday at Mark Morris.
