River Cross Country fares excellently in its largest invitational of the season.

(CR Sports) - On Saturday, River Cross Country competed in their largest invitational of the season, Nike Hole In The Wall. They traveled all the way up to Lakewood High School in Arlington, and competed against roughly 130 schools from all around the nation. Men’s Varsity Gold took 28th out of 44, while Women’s Varsity Silver took 11th out of 27.
Overall, both the girls and the boys demonstrated outstanding performances, despite the large competition ranging from 250-350 runners per race.The determination and passion seen in these runners is evident as they keep working hard every day to ensure that their speed and strength are always increasing. If River XC keeps improving at such a fast pace, they will surely stand a great chance at making it to state._____________________________________

They traveled all the way up to Lakewood High School in Arlington, and competed against roughly 130 schools from all around the nation. Men’s Varsity Gold took 28th out of 44, while Women’s Varsity Silver took 11th out of 27.
With Jacob McManus being the only runner to land a spot in an elite race, he placed 15th out of 154 of some of the nation’s fastest runners, reaching an outstanding time of 15:16.01. In the Men’s Varsity Gold race, Garret Graham blazed in with a 26 second PR, with a time of 17:14.03, and placed 101th out of 314 runners.
On the girls side, Mae Otoupal placed 7th in a race of 214 runners, and landed an incredible time of 20:09.02. Shortly after, Ainsley Morrisey blew through the finish line with a time of 20:28.03, placing 16th overall. Having two of our girls varsity athletes take a spot on the top 20 podium was a truly uplifting moment, and furthermore pushes the team towards their aspirations at state.
