(CR Sports) - On Monday, boys baseball took on Mountain View to open up the 2025 season. The boys came in with all the momentum in the world, finishing off last season winning their last eight games, including the state championship. They also participated in a Jamboree over the weekend, in which they battled multiple 4A schools and left undefeated. They hoped to carry this momentum into their game against a Mountain View squad that opened up their season with a dominant 11-0 victory over Hockinson. That is exactly what they did, as the Rapids came into this game motivated and ready for the start to another successful year. Junior Kian Siegel opened the first inning with 2 home runs, while senior Noah Coakes was tormenting opposing pitchers, leaving them scoreless after the first. The boys held the lead for all of the game, and after a bases clearing triple from Zach Sims, the Rapids secured the victory, winning 9-3. The boys currently sit as the #1 ranked team 2A team in the state, and the 23rd ranked team overall in Washington.
It was a dominant way to start their 2025 campaign, and they hope to build off this tonight. The boys take on Anacortes, a strong squad that opened their season beating the #2 ranked team in the state, Mount Vernon. A win over the fellow 2A school would be huge for the Rapids, as they look to keep their top ranking and remain undefeated._____________________________________
