Despite a season-opening loss to R.A. Long, they have won their past four games with a +26 goal differential.
-------- Christine Smith
The boys opened up the season at R.A. Long after a quarterfinals exit in state from last year. They were hungry and wanted to get things started on the right foot. However, despite holding a 1-0 lead for a portion of the first half, they fell short, losing 2-1 after letting up two goals before the end of the first half.
Nevertheless, they have been using it as motivation to improve and ensure that it does not happen again. They immediately got a chance at redemption going up against Mark Morris, and did just that, winning 8-0.
The boys then followed this up by playing a tough out-of-league opponent in Heritage. Going into the game, the boys were focused on getting the job done as they wanted to have a winning record at the end of their first week of games. The boys were able to get the job done, winning by a final score of 4-1, led by senior forward Ryland Perron’s two goals.
This week so far, the boys have continued where they left off from last week by defeating Hudson’s Bay 8-1, and Woodland 8-0. This sets them up for a rivalry game against Ridgefield tomorrow. Ridgefield has had a slow start to the season, so far maintaining a 1-3 record just four games in. Despite this, they are coming off a dominant 6-2 win over Mark Morris and are looking to turn their season around.
