Despite a tough regular season, they have plans of ending it off strong heading into the postseason.

For the boys, this can be seen when they went to La Center earlier in the season and had two finalists. As for the girls, this can be highlighted not only with how they are performing in their meets, but also with the turnout that they have had this year.
“We [have had] a turnout of…13 [girls] and it’s going strong,” explained girls wrestling captain Jersey O’Neill. “We still have all of them coming… out to practice, doing their best, [and] working hard.”
When the team started out the year 0-3 in league dual meets, some wrestlers described how they could have been 3-0 at that point if they fixed up some of their mistakes and kept working. However, even after falling to 0-4, they can still end off their season strong. One way they think this can happen is through continuing to push themselves at practices, which will lead to success in their last couple of meets.
“We have hard, long practices to keep ourselves focused,” O’Neill described. “We have to have…speeches at the beginning of every practice [to motivate some wrestlers].”
Going into the end of the regular season, both girls and boys wrestling only have two more dual meets. They are hoping to get at least one team win before the regular season is over.
“I’m hoping that we work hard in practice and at least win one meet by the end of the year,” O’Neill stated.
