Next, both tomorrow and Saturday, boys swim is up against several other schools. In their last meet, subdistricts, they put their talents on full display and won the meet. Due to this, they now have 10 swimmers competing this weekend as they look to qualify for state in some events. The meet is at Mark Morris both days, starting at 11 a.m.
Also on Saturday, girls wrestling competes in their district competition at Hudson’s Bay against multiple other schools such as Washougal, Ridgefield, and Hudson’s Bay. The girls are looking to place well at the tournament and as a result, send as many wrestlers onto state as possible.
Additionally, boys basketball plays on Saturday in the first round of districts. They are up against Tumwater and after a third-place finish in league, they look to keep their strong season going by advancing to the second round of districts. The game is in Tumwater at 6:00 p.m.
Lastly, on Saturday, girls gymnastics competes against many other schools as well. This comes after they were able to skip sub-districts due to their regular season performance. Now, especially with the strong season that the girls have had from both their upper and lowerclassmen, they are looking to get as high of a team score as possible and send the whole team to state. Their district meet starts at 10 a.m. and is at Naydenov.
This weekend is a crucial weekend for winter sports as they look to qualify as many athletes as they can for state in the upcoming weeks. With so much on the line, come out and support your fellow athletes! Good luck, winter sports!
