(CR Sports) - This past Thursday and Friday, girls gymnastics competed in state at Sammamish High School. The girls finished off their season strong by placing sixth overall and by having several individuals place well.

For all-around placements, River had three girls place within the top-50. Macey Chenette tied for 40th (out of 138) with an overall score of 32.425, Sloan Atkins placed 44th with a 32.050, and Sarah Hagerty took 46th place with a 31.675. River also had two more girls place within the top-60: Lexa Straub with a 30.425 and Adelaide Gorretta with a 27.200.

As a team, they tallied 154.900 total points: 40.150 from vault, 36.050 from bars, 37.275 from beam, and 41.425 from floor.

Overall, despite it not being their highest team score of the year, the girls still performed very well at state. Also, even though this was their last meet of the year, they still have a lot to look forward to next season, since they will only be losing two seniors and have several underclassmen that are ready to take the next step and fill the spots of this year’s graduates._____________________________________
