After back-to-back close wins against Puyallup and Ridgefield, they are looking to defeat Hockinson and R.A. Long to win league.

Last Saturday, they played the number one-ranked team in 4A, Puyallup. Throughout the first half, the boys controlled possession incredibly well and took an early lead in the 14th minute with a header from Jaydon Muodzi. Soon after, River increased its lead to two with a goal from J.P. Guzman in the 23rd minute, and they would hold their lead going into halftime. Going into the second half, Puyallup regained much of the possession, but River’s defense held strong until the 62nd minute, when Puyallup cut the lead down to one. River’s defense held strong for the rest of the game, and the boys came out with a 2-1 win, after a disallowed Puyallup goal.
Yesterday, they played at Ridgefield and ended up getting a close win, with a score of 5-4. Going into halftime, it was 0-0, with multiple chances on both sides. At the beginning of the second half, River scored twice, followed by a Ridgefield goal, and then a River goal to put the score at 3-1. Heading towards the end of the game, Ridgefield scored twice to tie it up at 3-3. At the very end of the game, with about four minutes remaining, River scored again, followed by another Ridgfield goal. Finally, River scored another goal to end the game, taking the win with a score of 5-4.
