(CR Sports) - One word to describe Girls Softball this year: unstoppable. The Girl’s Softball team has started the season 15-2 and is currently ranked 3rd in the state for the 2A Conference. The team led by Senior Captains Mia Yanez, Aurora Wiley, and Harris Thorp-Maloney, has dominated every team in their path, outscoring their opponents 215-66 in these games, including a stretch where they won 5 games without letting up a single point. The team is well on its way to a high seed in the playoffs and has its mind set on one thing: a state championship.Last season the team was equally dominant, with a record of 14-4 going into the postseason. However, in the first round, they were eliminated by Kelso High School. This year, they plan to flip that script and win state; this will not be an easy task, but considering how the team has played, there is no doubt that they can win it all.
Overall, this girls slow pitch softball season has been great going into the postseason where they will try to prove themselves to the rest of the state. Make sure you come out and support the team for their second-to-last game of the regular season on Monday, where they will take on Hudson’s Bay at VGSA at 4:30!_____________________________________
