Girls and boys teams destroy R.A. Long & Washougal in the final meet of the regular season.

Some notable performances came from the boys 4x400m team snatching first place by less than a second, with a final time of 3:39.93. The team consisted of Joseph Ianello, Solomon Menendez, Neftali Menendez, and Eli Wenger. Another remarkable performance came from the girls 4x200m team claiming first place with a massive 4-second lead and a final time of 1:49.91. This team consisted of Lillian Mickel, Peyton Dukes, Olivia Banfield, and Gina Lungwitz.
When looking at some of the field events, Ryker Loukkula won by throwing the discus 153’ 9, beating second place by nearly 3 feet. Also congratulations to fellow CR sports correspondent John Reeder for taking first in long jump with a final distance of 19’ 7. For the girls, Peyton Dukes and Lillion Mickel took first and second in the triple jump with final distances of 33’ 2.25, and 31’ 7.5. Alongside with this, Cicily Orizotti and Sarah Hagerty also took first and second in pole vault with final jumps of 9 ‘0, and 8’ 0.
River has now finished its regular season maintaining a perfect winning streak throughout all the meets this season. River has remained strong and is now entering the challenge of the postseason. However, with the constant outstanding performances that have been made, they stand as a very promising challenger in the postseason and have paved a solid road to success at state.
