Girls and Boys Tennis show out at state and bring home state championship and second place finish, respectively.
River Girls Tennis went to state with the intention of bringing back a state title, in which they did. With a team score of 25 points, Girls Tennis achieved first place in the tournament. Annie Morgan and Sydney Dreves led the way for the Rapids, finishing as runner-ups in the doubles tournament, and Jenny Serebriakova who finished fourth place overall in the singles tournament. Even though the girls did not have any individual champions, they are bringing back the state championship trophy. This is the girls second championship in three years, and tops off a remarkable season for the team.
Over in the boys tournament, the Rapids also came out with a very strong result. Two fourth place finishes paved the way for the team, with Lucas Walburn achieving fourth place in singles, and the team of Fuller Beyer and Trent Sarvela reaching fourth place in doubles. The boys team placed second overall, only behind North Kitsap. River Boys Tennis bounced back this season, after a somewhat underwhelming finish last year at state.
Columbia River tennis capped off another impressive season, with high finishes for both genders. With undefeated runs and broken records, this season will be looked back at as another great year for the program.
