(CR Sports) -For the boys, they suffered a tough loss this past Saturday to Mark Morris for the 2A GSHL league title. They fought hard, only being down 1 point at half, and keeping the game within reach for all 32 minutes. Even an incredible 36-point performance from Aaron Hoey wasn’t enough for the Rapids, as they fell to the Monarchs 75-63 behind Braydon Olson’s 43 points. This isn’t rattling the rapids, as they are staying the course, annihilating Hockinson 78-56 on Monday to clinch a home playoff berth. They will face Black Hills in the first round of the district playoffs at 6 PM this Saturday at River. They will be keeping that Mark Morris loss in the back of their mind, as they look to rally their way to a rematch in the district title game. For the Girls, it has been more of the same—total dominance. After a heartbreaking loss to Hudson’s Bay to start the new year, the Girls locked in and finished the season on a 9-game winning streak, even getting their revenge on the Eagles with a 61-46 win. After swiftly taking care of Hockinson 58-28 on Monday, the girls clinched number 1 in league, and only sit one game behind the number 1 spot in the whole district. The girls hope to continue their dominant winning streak into playoffs and bring home a district title. They are led by sophomore Gracie Glavin, who is making a strong case for league MVP. Their first playoff game is this Friday at 6PM at River. Their opponent is yet to be determined._____________________________________
