Boys and girls wrestling tussle through the regional tournament as they prepare for the Mat Classic State Championships this upcoming weekend.

(CR Sports) - The Rapids Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams grappled through the Class 2A Region 3 Wrestling Championships last Saturday. River started the tournament as consistent as ever, with good showings from both teams.
Despite no girls qualifying for state, the boys team had 6 people qualify. This includes Aidan Deeney, Caden Rossi, Jack Givens, Sam Nava, Carson Jones, and Tennyson Kurtz. They will participate in the Mat Classic State Championships. The tournament will take place tomorrow and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome. Good luck, wrestlers!_____________________________________
(CR Sports) - The Rapids Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams grappled through the Class 2A Region 3 Wrestling Championships last Saturday. River started the tournament as consistent as ever, with good showings from both teams.
The boys wrestling team tied for fourth place in the tournament, with a tally of 107.5 points. The team was led by star Tennyson Kurtz, who took first place overall in the 157-pound weight class bracket with 25.5 points. Other Rapids had high finishes as well, such as Caden Rossi who got third in the 120-pound weight class bracket, and Jack Givens who was also third in the 126-pound weight class.
The girls wrestling team also fared well in the tournament. Notable performances include Jersey O’Neill taking home fifth place in the 125-pound weight class bracket, Dominique Phelps finishing fifth in the 145-pound weight class bracket, and Aaliyah Booth ending fifth in the 170-pound weight class bracket.
