Girls Basketball's strong performances against Woodland and Fort Vancouver propels them to 2-0 and give them momentum going into Tuesday's matchup against Mark Morris.
-------- Julia Delgadillo / CR Sports
Last year, the Girls Basketball team started their season very similarly and ended up having one of their best seasons in recent memory.
This year’s team is trying to build off the success they found last season when they found themselves in the first round of state. Despite losing in the first round of state last season, so far this season, they have not let that affect them. The team is looking for vengeance and is so far headed in the right direction.
The two wins also give the team momentum going forward as they play again on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at home against Mark Morris. Mark Morris currently holds a 1-1 (league) record and will be a strong opponent for River as they have scored an average of 59.5 points in games they have won this season.
However, River has only let up 38 points on average in their first two wins of the year. The matchup should be a great one. Make sure to come out and support the team as they fight for their third straight win of the year, Rapids!
