(CR News) - On Friday June 6th, River hosted its annual senior send off assembly to honor the class of 2025. This is a group of seniors that started their high school experience during the COVID-19 Pandemic, back in 2021, when the quarantine policies began slowly lifting and students were able to re-enter classrooms.
Nearing the end of the assembly, Seniors rose and departed one row at a time, getting congratulatory handshakes and high fives from staff, as they exited the gym for their final picture as seniors and Columbia River students. As a fitting end to the assembly, all returning students made the transition from their previous grade to the next, by finding their new positions on the bleachers._____________________________________
(CR News) - On Friday June 6th, River hosted its annual senior send off assembly to honor the class of 2025. This is a group of seniors that started their high school experience during the COVID-19 Pandemic, back in 2021, when the quarantine policies began slowly lifting and students were able to re-enter classrooms.
Seniors entering the J Hoover Gymnasium were embraced by the applause from students, teachers, and families, while making their way to the assigned chairs on the gym floor. Columbia River Principal, Alex Otoupal, began the assembly with congratulating these students on their journey through high school.
Students were recognized for participating in programs and clubs such as ASB, IB, Running Start, and many more. They were also recognized for their post-graduation plans—whether it be heading straight to the workforce, joining the military, or attending college.
Families will celebrate their students completion of the long 4 years of high school
at the official graduation, which will be held at the Cascades Amphitheater tomorrow, June 10th.
