(CR News) - Green Team has continued their work on creating a mural of the world, made from plastic bottle caps. They hope to finish setting up the artwork by the end of April. Now in the home stretch of the project, club president Jacob McManus reflects on the process. McManus tells CR News the artwork itself is like a puzzle. Ensuring it is cohesive—trying to fit each piece together just right—has been a challenge for club members. They’ve worked together to brainstorm innovative solutions, like cutting the bottle caps in half to overcome these obstacles.
McManus says that it’s been a more successful project than he imagined at first. With progress going better than envisioned, Green Team has greater hope for the influence of the finished piece.
“Inspiring change” is the goal this project aims to fulfill, and a shift in perspective by students is all it takes. An increase in club members, accountability, and student involvement in sustainability efforts, are just a few changes that would have a lasting impact for River._____________________________________
