Wearing traditional red, green, and violet Mexican dresses, the dancers performed alongside members of River’s band.
Club President Diego Luis Contreras, who spoke during the assembly, described the musical event as “a step forward.” Luis Contreras feels that River struggles with “celebration of Hispanic culture in our school,” explaining that last year’s performances were only made available to students in Spanish classes.
Showing off “a glimpse of our culture,” Luis Contreras hopes the assembly will bring more attention to La Plaza’s efforts and encourage students to join the club next year.
