Despite the loss, the team still went 15-6, and Chris Parkin, a shortstop, described that the season was still “a success” and thinks that “the development of the players and the growth as a team really, truly was a success”. He was proud of how far the team has come but hopes that the team can make it back to the state championship run they had last year. In order to do so, the team, according to Parkin, needs to work on their hitting in the offseason, so they “will offensively become a better team next year”. Chris will be a senior next year and mentioned how the loss this year “wakes them [the team] up to realizing that it is going to be a little bit more difficult than they think to make it back to our state championship run”, which he hopes will fuel them to improve for next season.
Baseball went 15-6 in the regular season and wants to build on what happened this year, such as their 7th-inning comeback against Mark Morris during their winning streak, so they can make it back to the finals, and win state next year.
