On Friday, the Boy’s Varsity team took down Fort Vancouver 3-0 and improved their record to 13-0. It was a tough, gritted-out win for the team and highlighted their defense and quick-strike ability and how that can help them in the postseason.
Tomorrow, they take on Mark Morris, and on Thursday they will face off against Hockinson; both of which should be good games, especially against Hockinson because they are heating up and are currently 10-2-1. Both are home games and the team will have to be prepared to play two games within three days.
The team's success up to this point has come from great defense with a combination of a fast pace and hard working offense. Also, the welcoming of new head coach Matt Newman has proved to be a smooth transition from previous head coach Filomon Afenegus. Coach Newman has been able to keep the spirit of the team high, as the season has advanced.
As the season has progressed there have been a lot of successes for the team, but as the regular season comes to an end, and the postseason is arising, the team must work hard and must continue to lock-in to keep their success going.
If you want to come out to support the team, on Tuesday and Thursday they play Mark Morris and Hockinson, respectively, at home at 7:00 pm. Thursday is also Senior Night, so come out and support the team and the seniors!
