Passing the torch: Inside the future of CRTV Media & its productions

NEWSROOM: As the school year winds down and with graduation just around the corner, a new chapter is beginning for CRTV Media. This week, the transition process involving CRTV Media leadership has taken place, with sophomores and juniors across the network now taking on expanded roles. The seniors in the class will return for one final special edition of “CR This Week” (@crthisweek) on May 30. 

CR News’ Elijah Garon (@egaron27) has succeeded Talan Collins as director and chief correspondent of the news division of CRTV Media, and will oversee its three flagship productions and digital content heading into next year, including serving as the network’s lead reporter (@columbiarivernews). He also succeeded Collins as executive producer and co-anchor of “CR This Week,” after the final episode of “CR This Morning” (@crthismorning) aired on Monday. Garon is also a co-moderator and contributing producer of “The Rapids Report” (@rapidsreport). 

Meanwhile, Isabel Grovom (@isa.grovom11) succeeds Audrey Flak as associate news director. Grovom is a CR News correspondent and will also serve as news producer for “CR This Week.” 

CR News’ Niles Cowan (@niles.cow) succeeds Tyme Sisakvanich as chief anchor, and will join Garon as co-anchor of “CR This Week” beginning Friday. 

“CR This Morning” fill-in anchor NaSean Howard (@sean_howard_08) succeeds Jacob McManus as CR News senior correspondent. 

Leading the sports division as its director and chief correspondent is Isaac Thompson (@isaac.thompson02), who has frequently contributed reports to CR News programs throughout the year. He succeeds long-time sports producer Conner Orr on “CR This Week” as well. 

Other key leaders of next year’s class include CR News correspondent Everett Briggs, William Guevara (@williamprimeyt0911), and writer Owen Hess (@commlogic), who’s set to co-produce “The Rapids Report” when Emmy McGill (@emmy_mcgill_) takes over as moderator. Other class contributors include Evelyn Green (@eviegreem) and Cooper Schultz (@cooper.e.x.e).
