Emmy McGill to succeed Talan Collins as editor-in-chief of CRTV Digital, and later as moderator of The Rapids Report in May
NEWSROOM: CR News section editor & staff writer Emmy McGill (@emmy_mcgill_ ) has been named editor-in-chief of CRTV Digital: Journalism Club (@crtvdigitalclub) with immediate effect, and has assumed responsibilities for the management of the club’s operations and its associated website upon its expected launch later this week. McGill succeeds longtime student journalist Talan Collins, who first founded the club—available to all students interested in multimedia storytelling—in September 2024. Collins, now editor emeritus, will remain to supervise the launch and subsequent transition period as he prepares to step away from various roles across CRTV Media. CR News’ Josiah Foster (@josiahfoster920) will fill McGill’s role as news editor of the club.
The new editor-in-chief will also take over as permanent moderator of “The Rapids Report” (@rapidsreport) later in May after Collins’ final episode. Since November, McGill has contributed to several productions as a frequent analyst & associate producer, recently joining the Emmy award-nominated current affairs program as a co-moderator last month. Current associate producer Owen Hess (@commlogic) will take on expanded responsibilities as co-producer & editor beginning after Collins’ exit.
Despite the incoming transition, CRTV Digital, CR News, and “The Rapids Report” remain committed, as always, to honest & original storytelling for, & by, CR students. Stay tuned!
